Meet the team

Aren is a student at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) enrolled in the undergraduate Artificial Intelligence and graduate Systems Engineering programs. He is pursuing a MS in Systems Engineering, BS in Computer Science, and BA in Cognitive Science. He has a passion for debate and public speaking – competing at the collegiate and high school levels. At Penn, Aren has served as a Deputy Director of the Intercollegiate Model United Nations Debate team – ranked in 2017 as the best team in North America. His previous experience includes serving as Parliamentary Debate Captain at Henry M. Gunn Senior High from 2013 - 2015.

Advait is a student at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) pursuing a degree in Industrial Design. As a budding designer working with partners such as Google and IDEO, he has found that his passion for public speaking has had a positive impact on his professional career by helping him effectively communicate new ideas, and maintaining an successful sense of innovation and creativity amidst a fast-paced tech environment. Through his experience as a debater, Advait has honed his abilities as a leader through several administrative roles within the high school debate circuit, experience that culminated in his presidency of the Henry M. Gunn Senior High Speech and Debate Team.

Awards: Parliamentary Debate Triple-Octafinalist - Stanford National Invitational Tournament (2014),Parliamentary Debate Finalist - Coast Forensics League 2 (2013), International Extemporaneous Speech Finalist - Coast Forensics Novice League 2 (2011). 

Dilip is a student at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) majoring in Computer Science and Economics. His experience includes serving as Parliamentary Debate Captain at Henry M. Gunn Senior High from 2012-2013. His primary passion is investing, and he has found that debate has provided him with a number of applicable skills (critical thinking, sales/persuasion, teamwork, leadership etc). In his free time, Dilip likes to play chess and basketball.

Awards: Parliamentary Debate 3rd place Speaker, 6th place Team – California State (2012).

Enrollment

Application

ADA Plus Academy is a selective, application-based program. The application further serves as a diagnostic for our instructors to gauge our students’ abilities and tailor our students’ educations accordingly.

Students will be invited to join the program on a rolling basis.

Phone Consultation

Should a student be invited to join the program, there will be a brief phone consultation between the student, parent/guardian, and one of the program’s founders. During this consultation, we will work together to determine the right education plan for the student.

Next Steps

Following the phone consultation, the student must reserve her spot. Spots in the program are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
